A 22 Year Old Rotherham Man, no Longer Walk Up His Stairs
A Yorkshire community has launched a fundraiser for a life-changing stairlift for a Yorkshire man who can no longer walk up his stairs due to a rare genetic syndrome. Set up by friends and family of Leighton Barker, it is hoped the money will help give him some of his independence back.
The 22-year-old from Rotherham, who was born with Hurler’s Syndrome (MPS), which causes progressive damage to the organs, is now unable to walk without experiencing pain.
